About me

I am a Senior Researcher with the Computer Vision Research Team at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) [site]. My research lies at the intersection of computer vision, vision-and-language, and 3D scene understanding. I am particularly interested in developing AI systems that can understand dynamic real-world environments, reason about objects, actions, viewpoints, and scene changes, and describe them in a human-interpretable way.

My recent work focuses on visual reasoning from multi-view, 3D, and spatio-temporal observations, including scene change understanding, visual question answering, vision-and-language navigation, and structured representations for complex visual transformations. Through this research, I aim to build AI systems that not only recognize visual patterns but also explain, compare, and reason about the world in a way that is closer to human perception and cognition.

In addition to my research, I have a strong enthusiasm for language learning. I am a native Chinese speaker and proficient in English and Japanese for communication and academic writing. I can also engage in casual conversations in French (DELF B1) and Italian (CILS B1), and I am currently a beginner learner of Arabic.

Research Internship

I am currently looking for motivated research interns to work with me on-site at the AIST Tsukuba Center in Japan on topics related to computer vision, vision-and-language, and 3D scene understanding. Potential topics include scene change understanding, multi-view and 3D visual reasoning, visual question answering, vision-and-language navigation, and spatio-temporal visual understanding.
